DFR Site Cameras — Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of DFR Site Cameras, including its integration with Ring devices and services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is provided by NGM, Inc. (“NGM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing, enabling, linking, or using DFR Site Cameras, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Purpose of the Service
DFR Site Cameras is intended to assist construction professionals, project owners, contractors, consultants, and other authorized users with construction progress documentation and Daily Field Report workflows.
The Service may allow authorized users to connect compatible Ring cameras and automatically retrieve or organize images for purposes such as:
- construction progress documentation;
- Daily Field Reports;
- project recordkeeping;
- site-condition documentation;
- scheduled progress photography;
- camera-location and orientation documentation; and
- project photo organization and tagging.
The Service is a documentation and workflow tool. It is not a security monitoring, emergency response, alarm, life-safety, structural safety, or property-protection service.
2. Ring Account and Device Authorization
Certain features require you to link a valid Ring account and authorize DFR Site Cameras to access compatible Ring devices.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining a valid Ring account;
- maintaining any Ring subscription required for the applicable Ring functionality;
- selecting which Ring devices DFR Site Cameras may access;
- ensuring that you are authorized to grant access to those devices;
- maintaining internet connectivity and power for your Ring devices; and
- maintaining any required Ring account security, authentication, or verification settings.
DFR Site Cameras will access only Ring devices and information made available through the authorization granted by the Ring account holder.
You may revoke the Service’s access to your Ring account or devices through available Ring account/integration controls or through functionality provided by DFR Site Cameras.
3. Authorized Use
You may use DFR Site Cameras only for lawful purposes and only with cameras, properties, projects, and information that you have the legal right and authority to access.
You may not use the Service to:
- access a Ring device without authorization;
- circumvent Ring security, privacy, account, or device controls;
- obtain surveillance data from another person or organization without authorization;
- harass, stalk, threaten, discriminate against, or unlawfully monitor another person;
- conduct unlawful surveillance;
- create unauthorized facial-recognition databases, watchlists, or tracking systems;
- provide standing or unauthorized access to camera footage to law enforcement or other third parties;
- interfere with or disrupt Ring, Amazon, DFR Site Cameras, or related systems; or
- use the Service in any manner prohibited by applicable law or Ring or Amazon policies.
4. Workplace and Jobsite Monitoring
DFR Site Cameras is intended in part for use on construction sites and other workplaces.
If you deploy cameras in a workplace or jobsite environment, you are responsible for complying with all applicable employment, labor, privacy, surveillance, notice, signage, collective-bargaining, and consent requirements.
This may include providing appropriate notice to employees, contractors, visitors, subcontractors, inspectors, or other persons who may be captured by cameras and obtaining consent where required by law.
NGM does not determine whether camera placement, recording, monitoring, or image collection is lawful for a particular project or jurisdiction.
Ring’s current policy expressly places responsibility on employers using workplace-monitoring applications to provide required notices and obtain legally required consents.
5. Images and Associated Metadata
The Service may retrieve images or other permitted media from authorized Ring devices and associate those images with project information.
Depending on configuration, associated information may include:
- actual image capture date and time;
- project name or identifier;
- camera name and identifier;
- user-configured camera latitude and longitude;
- camera viewing direction or azimuth;
- camera deployment information;
- location description;
- project or image tags; and
- other project documentation metadata.
Some of this information may be embedded directly into an image’s metadata, including EXIF metadata, so that it remains associated with the image when the image is exported, downloaded, transferred, or incorporated into project records.
You are responsible for the accuracy of project, location, camera, tagging, and other information you enter into the Service.
6. Ring-Supplied Media
Images and media made available through Ring remain subject to applicable Ring and Amazon terms, restrictions, technical limitations, and service availability.
Ring may apply required markings or watermarks to media delivered through its APIs. DFR Site Cameras does not represent that such Ring-applied markings can or should be removed.
Ring’s current API documentation states that media provided through the Partner API contains mandatory server-side watermarking.
7. Privacy and Data
Our collection, processing, use, storage, retention, and deletion of personal information and Ring-derived information are described in the DFR Site Cameras Privacy Policy, available at: https://ngm-inc.com/privacy-policy/
You agree that NGM may process information necessary to provide the Service in accordance with that Privacy Policy and the permissions you grant.
We do not acquire ownership of your project photographs merely because they are processed by the Service.
8. Data Deletion and Revocation
You may request deletion of eligible account information and Ring-derived information by contacting us or through any data-deletion functionality we make available.
If you revoke Ring authorization, discontinue use of the Service, or request deletion, we will delete Ring-derived end-user data as required by applicable law and applicable Ring program requirements, subject to legally permissible retention obligations.
Some information may remain in legitimate project records, backups, regulatory records, or records retained at your direction where permitted by law.
Ring requires participating applications to provide an accessible mechanism for users to request deletion of Ring-derived data and to delete such information when required.
9. Customer Project Records
Images collected through DFR Site Cameras may become part of construction documentation or project records.
You are responsible for determining:
- how long project records should be retained;
- which persons may access them;
- whether they constitute contract documents, business records, evidence, or regulated records;
- whether project owners or third parties have rights to those records; and
- whether deletion requests are subject to applicable legal or contractual preservation requirements.
DFR Site Cameras is not a substitute for your organization’s formal document-retention or litigation-hold procedures.
10. Service Availability
DFR Site Cameras depends on third-party infrastructure and services, including Ring services, Ring devices, internet connectivity, hosting providers, and other systems outside NGM’s control.
Accordingly, we do not guarantee that:
- a camera will always be online;
- every scheduled image will be available;
- Ring will make a particular historical snapshot or recording available;
- images will be retrieved at an exact scheduled time;
- third-party APIs will operate without interruption;
- device functionality will remain unchanged; or
- every image request will succeed.
The Service may retry, delay, backfill, or identify an image as unavailable when Ring or another required service does not provide the requested media.
11. Not a Life-Safety or Security Service
Do not rely on DFR Site Cameras for emergency response, worker safety, fall protection, fire protection, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, hazardous-condition detection, structural safety, or any application where failure or delay could result in injury, death, or property damage.
The Service does not continuously monitor your property and does not dispatch emergency services.
Ring’s Appstore Program Requirements prohibit use of Ring services for activities where use or failure of the service could lead to death, injury, or property damage.
12. Third-Party Services
Ring and Amazon are third parties independent of NGM.
Your use of Ring products and services remains subject to Ring’s and Amazon’s own applicable agreements, policies, subscriptions, and terms.
NGM does not control Ring’s:
- hardware;
- subscription plans;
- APIs;
- image availability;
- account requirements;
- service uptime;
- device functionality;
- pricing; or
- policies.
Changes made by Ring or Amazon may affect the operation or availability of DFR Site Cameras.
Ring, Amazon, and related names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
13. Fees and Subscriptions
Certain DFR Site Cameras functionality may require a paid subscription or may be included as part of another NGM or Daily Field Report service.
Any applicable price, billing period, features, renewal terms, cancellation terms, and trial conditions will be disclosed before purchase.
Where Ring requires use of the Ring billing system for Ring Appstore subscriptions or in-app products, applicable purchases will be processed through the required Ring billing mechanism. Ring’s current program requirements govern billing for Ring In-App Products.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect account credentials, authorization tokens, images, and other information handled by the Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding your own account credentials, devices, computers, networks, and access to project information.
You must notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access to DFR Site Cameras or information processed through it.
15. Suspension or Termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe that:
- these Terms have been violated;
- the Service is being used unlawfully;
- Ring or Amazon requires us to restrict access;
- continued access creates a security or privacy risk;
- required fees remain unpaid; or
- continued operation is no longer technically or commercially feasible.
You may discontinue use of the Service and revoke your Ring authorization at any time.
16. Intellectual Property
DFR Site Cameras, its software, user interface, documentation, designs, and related intellectual property are owned by NGM or its licensors.
Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.
You retain whatever rights you otherwise possess in project information and content you lawfully provide to the Service.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DFR Site Cameras is provided “as is” and “as available.”
NGM disclaims warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or capable of retrieving every requested image.
No information produced by DFR Site Cameras constitutes engineering, architectural, safety, legal, compliance, or professional advice.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NGM will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the Service, including damages arising from:
- unavailable or delayed camera images;
- loss of project information;
- device or network outages;
- Ring or third-party service interruptions;
- incorrect user-entered metadata;
- unauthorized camera placement or use; or
- reliance on the Service for security, safety, or emergency purposes.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless NGM and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from claims arising from your:
- unlawful or unauthorized use of cameras;
- failure to provide required monitoring or surveillance notices;
- violation of privacy or employment laws;
- violation of these Terms; or
- infringement of another person’s rights.
20. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service or these Terms periodically.
If changes materially affect your rights or the way we use Ring-derived information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
The effective date shown at the top of these Terms identifies the most recent revision.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of: CALIFORNIA
without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any mandatory consumer rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected.
22. Contact and Abuse Reporting
Questions, support requests, privacy requests, data-deletion requests, or reports of misuse or abuse may be directed to us.
